I've always written. Mostly to amuse myself, occasionally to entertain others. Birthdays, weddings, always on hand to add a rhyme where it wasn't strictly necessary. Being an author felt like something other people did.

So I went to work instead. Thirty years of it. Strategy, insights, marketing. I enjoyed it. The ideas, the craft of communication, mainly the people.

But words were always the thing. The power of them. The precision. The way the right one lands completely differently to the almost-right one. The fact that language alone:  no images, no music, nothing else, can put you inside another person's world and make you feel something true. I found that remarkable. I'm still finding it remarkable.

Brand New Tomorrow is what happens when you spend three decades watching language being used for so many different purposes, including making the wrong things sound reasonable, and finally decide to write about it honestly.

It publishes in May 2026. More will follow.

I live in Buckinghamshire with my wife Susan and Monty, who has no opinions about dystopian fiction but remains an excellent judge of character.
